

There will always be some combination of speed, force, and angle, that will cause damage. It is impossible to have a case that offers total protection of your smartphone while still allowing you to continue to use it with little fuss. There are no issues with using an L-shaped headphone jack, and both the lightning port (on the iPhone cases) and the USB port (for the Galaxy S6) allow for cables with a decent level of plastic around the metal of the connectors. Power and volume buttons have buttons on the side of the bumper case that you can press to act on the buttons directly, while there are cutouts with generous space around the ports to allow for a wide range of accessories. There's no sign of damage to either the protective case or the protected technology.Ī mix of cutouts and buttons allow access to all the phone controls. I've not spent my time throwing my iPhone to the floor to test this premise (although others have, and I've little reason to doubt David Pogue), but accidents do happen and my phone has taken a few tumbles during the review period.
